The her practical interest in children showed the doValue Greece which proceeded to energy upgrade of the building of the ARSIS Center for Unaccompanied Minors, in Oreokastro.

The… unveiling of the project, concerning the change of the 35 frames of the main hostel (windows and balcony doors), which improves the living conditions of the children accommodated in the structure, was made today by the managing director of doValue Greece, Tasso Panousis.

These are certified energy-efficient constructions, four seasons, with efficient operation throughout the year, which meet all the specifications of the Regulation on the Energy Performance of Buildings (KENAK) with a coefficient below 2.

“We are particularly sensitive to the issue of children and we were able to show it in practice through this project. THE Corporate Social Responsibility strategy of doValue Greece focuses on three main axes, society, environment and health” said Mr. Panousis, pointing out: “The practical support of society, the needs of local communities and even more so of young people, is for us a solid choice and confirms doValue’s adherence to the principles and values ​​that govern its entire philosophy. By supporting the operation of the Accommodation Center for Unaccompanied Minors and implementing the important project of its energy upgrade, we wish to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the children staying there.”

“Until recently the public cooperation with private individuals was taboo. Such a thing is no longer the case” the Deputy Regional Governor for Health and Social Solidarity of Central Macedonia emphasized during her greeting Melina Dermentzopoulou noting that now “we take advantage of every possibility and the assistance of private individuals is a pillar of our policy, given that the correctness of supporting structures, especially when they deal with children, has been proven in practice”.

For his part, the mayor of Oreokastro Pantelis Tsakiris emphasized the importance of DoValue’s offering as well as the important one contribution to stand as a helper and supporter in the efforts of the Local Government.

The founding member of Arsis conveyed his thanks Nikos Gavalas, in fact, referring to the difficulties he faced from the beginning when he took over the building in Oreokastro, which was abandoned, until it reached its current state, so that the children could feel comfortable. “Support is a great factor in difficult path of the structure and at the same time a “lesson” about the value of interventions that improve the lives of children as well as the local society as a whole”, said Mr. Gavalas.

The structure

The accommodation structure for unaccompanied minors ARSIS in Oreokastro, which can accommodate up to 21 children, today it hosts 15, aged from 6-18 years old, it was created in 2009 and for the first time since its establishment, a project of this size is being carried out to upgrade its building.

It is noted that the Arsis House has supported children of all population groups for the last 16 years and has hosted 330 children to date. On average, children stay in the structure for two years, however there is also a case of a child who lives there for three and a half years. “Gradually the institutions are limiting their role and the institution of underwriting is being strengthened”, noted Mr. Gavalas.

It is noted that the new initiative undertaken and implemented by doValue Greece is part of the program corporate responsibility, #LifeValueswhich includes actions centered on the human being and the precious values ​​of human life.
