Shocking scenes took place yesterday in the Parliament between the MPs Konstantinos Floros and Vassilis Grammenos.
The incident took place while the plenary session of the Parliament was debating the lifting of the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, following a lawsuit filed against him by the father of Konstantinos Floros, who accuses Mr. Velopoulos of insulting him. through a hidden Twitter account.
Before the violent attack there was allegedly verbal episode between the two politicians, with insults. Konstantinos Floros claims that he reacted when Grammenos cursed his mother and categorically denied that he punched him.
“Try to drown me”
Speaking exclusively to Live News, Vassilis Grammenos, Member of Parliament of the Hellenic Solution, stated that he is in good health, while the doctors diagnosed him with broken nose and shoulder and arm injury.
“God willing, I’m doing better than yesterday. I had some dizziness. I’m at home, I’m bedridden on the advice of the doctors,” he said. “I was the victim. And from being a victim I cannot become a perpetrator. That’s what some are trying to do, to turn me into a perpetrator. I didn’t just get punched, tried to choke me. During the choke he managed a blow to my nose. This is the least. I fell down. He was pulling me by the throat. It was dragging me,” he added.
“I never cursed him,” said Vassilis Grammenos, who tomorrow, Friday, is going to testify in the presence of his lawyer at the judicial authorities.
“I didn’t say a word at all. After the blows he managed to get me, he was supposed to be arrested. He was taken to the corner. He claimed he started swearing at me in and out of the room. I never cursed him and I never waved against him” noted Vassilis Grammenos.
“I came out of the room to protect myself. He cursed me inside the room profanity and did obscene gestures and I never answered,” he added.
According to what the member of Hellenic Solution claimed, after the violent incident Konstantinos Floros was moving freely inside the Parliament. “While Kyriakos Velopoulos was on the floor of the Parliament, he was at the door of the Plenary and made obscene gestures (to the president of the Hellenic Solution)”, he said. “Why shouldn’t I defend myself? I don’t know how to defend myself? Why should I return the blow? Why should I do it in the Parliament? I entered the Parliament to represent the Greek citizens, not to make it a ring,” concluded the Hellenic Solution MP.
It should be noted that today Konstantinos Floros apologized for the incident and was released on the condition that he does not come within 50 meters of the Hellenic Solution MP.
