THE Jennifer Aniston and Kristin Hahn through Echo Films will produce the remake of the 1980 classic.9 to 5” for 20th Century Studios, Variety confirmed.
The film is currently in development, with screenwriter Diablo Cody working on the final draft of the script which is currently being kept top secret.
It is noted that the original film starring the Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin it followed the story of three working women who join forces against their sexist employer played by Dabney Coleman.
Directed by Colin Higgins from a script by Patricia Resnick.
The film was a huge success grossing over $103 million. A TV series of the same name followed, which aired on ABC, while a stage adaptation with new songs by the legendary Parton took place on Broadway in 2009.
