Ten new resorts are expected to open this summer in Mediterranean island destinations including Greece, Ibiza and Malta, bringing the number of resorts managed or built by Hilton in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to nearly a hundred.

Hilton is rapidly expanding its portfolio of resorts in Europe with 10 hotels (over 1,500 rooms in total) opening for this summer season through three of its brands: Curio Collection by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton. Recently, the company announced four new hotels: Hilton Alvor, which will open in 2026 and Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, Curio Collection by Hilton, The Club Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, Curio Collection by Hilton and Numo Ierapetra Beach Resort Crete, Curio Collection by Hilton, which will open this summer in Italy, Greece, Croatia and Malta.

In the past year alone, Hilton has signed deals for more than 20 resorts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, across six of its brands, as part of its strategy to grow its summer accommodation portfolio, which has more than doubled in recent years. five years and now has more than 300 hotels worldwide.

With ten resorts set to open ahead of this summer season, we are introducing exceptional properties in popular destinations including Ibiza, the Algarve and Crete, expanding the portfolio across the region and under different brand names.”

Numo Ierapetra Beach Resort Crete, Curio Collection by Hilton

On the south-eastern side of Crete, in a still unexplored area of ​​the island, Ierapetra, Numo Ierapetra Beach Resort Crete is an exclusive seaside resort designed for adults. This is the result of the franchise agreement with NUMO Hospitality, which is Hilton’s second with the company after the opening of Royal Senses Resort & Spa Crete, Curio Collection by Hilton in 2021. It has 132 rooms and suites, two swimming pools, an indoor gym and outdoor, tennis court and a boutique spa making it an ideal choice for wellness enthusiasts. In addition, guests can enjoy unique amenities such as an outdoor cinema with a beautiful mountain landscape as a background. Crete, the largest island of Greece and a favorite destination for European travelers, enchants its visitors with its incredible natural beauty, rich culinary traditions and places of archaeological and historical interest.

Hilton Alvor

Hilton Alvor will open its doors in the highly popular Algarve region in 2026, following a franchise agreement with the Mercan Group, with whom Hilton opened the Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton last year, while two other hotels operate in Portugal under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand. The Hilton Alvor will feature 363 rooms overlooking the scenic coastline. Guests will be able to choose from five restaurants, three bars, including a rooftop bar, as well as “Grab & Go” dining options for those wishing to explore the stunning Algarve region. In addition, they will be able to relax in one of the resort’s six swimming pools, the spa and jacuzzi or on the beach, since the hotel is located next to the sea. The resort will also feature over 1,200 square meters of event space, including a 450 square meter hall for weddings and events.

Two new resorts in Ibiza

Hilton has announced plans for two hotels in Ibiza under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand, in partnership with Hotel Investment Partners (HIP), a leading Southern European holiday property owner owned by funds managed by Blackstone. The two resorts are expected to open for the 2024 summer season, marking a major step for the Curio Collection by Hilton, making its debut in one of the world’s most famous vacation destinations. These hotels follow Canopy by Hilton Madrid Castellana and Domes Aulus Elounda, Curio Collection by Hilton recently opened in Madrid and Crete by the partnership between Hilton and HIP.

Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, Curio Collection by Hilton

Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, Curio Collection by Hilton, will open this summer on the north side of Port de San Miguel and will feature 196 rooms. It will offer direct access to the beach and three restaurants (including one with Mediterranean and one with Asian cuisine), as well as two bars and two swimming pools. It will also have a gym and wellness area with an outdoor area specially designed for calisthenics and yoga.

The Club Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, Curio Collection by Hilton

The Club Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza is located 10 minutes from Cala Benirrás, about 30 minutes from the attractions of the Old Town and very close to Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, which allows the two buildings to share some of the services that they offer It is an adults-recommended hotel with 96 rooms that will offer direct access to the sandy beach. It will feature a variety of restaurants, including a food truck, two bars, an outdoor pool and a fitness center.

These hotels are just some of the ones the group is set to welcome in the Mediterranean this summer, which also include Isla Brown Chania Crete Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, Isla Brown Corinthia Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton, Mangia’s Santa Teresa Sardinia, Curio Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton Malta and Keight Hotel Opatija, Curio Collection by Hilton.
