The defendant appeared remorseful, while in his statements outside the courts of the former Evelpidon School he stated that “as a son at that moment and driven by emotion, I considered that I did the right thing. As an MP I made a mistakethis behavior does not befit a Greek member of Parliament”.

Yesterday, the Prosecutor’s Office brought a felony charge against K. Floros for violence against a member of parliament during the performance of his duties (Article 157 of the Civil Code).

He denies punching V. Grammenos

It is noted that earlier, Konstantinos Floros, giving his version of the events that took place yesterday in the Parliament, claimed that he was provoked by the Hellenic Solution MP, noting, however, that he himself in no way punched him.

The independent MP’s defense lawyer spoke of “justified indignation” as “provided for and defined in the criminal law”, even expressing her surprise at the criminal charge against her client, speaking before the apology was completed.

“The Justice did its job impartially,” said the father of K. Floros upon leaving the courts.

The Parliament’s Rules of Procedure are changing after the violent episode – Tasoula’s order to the legal service

His decision to proceed with amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament in order to provide for stricter sanctions on members of the Parliament who display behavior that is not consistent with their position and do not have a place in the Parliament, is now being criticized in all tones by the president of the Parliament , Kostas Tasoulas.

Mr. Tasoulas announced his will already from the headquarters immediately after the unprecedented episode of MP-on-MP attack inside the Parliament, while today he started contacts with the legal service of the Parliament, in order to find out the appropriate ways of dealing with such phenomena by the Parliament.

Legal and constitutional experts will propose the changes

The legal and constitutional experts are now instructed to propose stricter changes to the President, which will be incorporated into the Regulations.

“For knowledge and compliance” Mr. Tasoulas had said yesterday, as he found that the Regulation did not provide for stricter “penalties” beyond 15-day suspension from Parliament’s workthe referral of the deputy to the Ethics Committee and the removal of his immunity so that he can then face his natural judge.

However, with his latest intervention, the Speaker of the Parliament, ordered the Guard to arrest and refer to the Authorities with the procedure of the autobus, the deputy K. Floros, based on the new Criminal Code for the crime of violence against a member of the Parliament during exercise of his duties (the Parliament was voting at that time on immunity waivers).

Initially, the order given for Konstantinos Floros was not to leave the Parliament and then to be detained at the guardhouse, from where he left accompanied by police officers for GADA. Specifically, his arrest was made on the basis of article 157 of the Criminal Code and as the same sources explained, in 2019, during the SYRIZA government, it became more “light”, as until then the penalty of deprivation of political rights was foreseen.

The president of the Parliament spoke of “brutal behavior”.

It is recalled that after yesterday’s incident in the Parliament, the Speaker of the Parliament K. Tasoulas said the following: “The Rules of the Parliament do not provide for brutal behavior, so it is lenient. The heaviest I can impose is to remove him with the Guard for 15 days from the business of the House. Caress over vulgarity!’

V. Grammenos with a broken nose and a splint on his hand

It is worth noting that from the attack, Vassilis Grammenos suffered a broken nose. In particular, according to the medical announcement, the MP suffered: “fracture of the nasal bones, sprain and strain of the acromioclavicular joint, traumatic rupture of the wrist and fifeocarpal ligament, and other specified disorders of the nose. Following these, Mr. Grammenos will need a fifeocarpal rest splint, a suspension – arm rest file and a 10-day sick leave is recommended.”

“I got punched in the face”

Mr. Grammenos spoke to the Star about the unprecedented violent attack he received: “I don’t have to respond to everyone’s fantasies. We were verbally attacked by Floros and left the room. I didn’t have time to react, I was punched in the face and he threw me to the floor.”

Before attacking, Mr. Floros had an intense dialogue with Mr. Grammenos inside the room, while when both were outside, Mr. Floros attacked and punched the Hellenic Solution MP.

How was the episode?

The episode between the independent MP and the Hellenic Solution MP took place outside the Plenary. The representative of the Hellenic Solution Konstantinos Chitas stated that he is in favor of lifting immunity, although as he said, the lawsuit is not connected to Mr. Velopoulos. Then, Constantinos Floros jumped up and told him that this will be decided by the court.

Immediately, members of Hellenic Solution started verbally attacking Konstantinos Floros. Information states that Vassilis Grammenos had an intense verbal episode with K. Floros, with the latter replying to him “come out and tell me”.

The episode – fortunately – triggered the immediate intervention of the Guard and then the case was taken to the automatic procedure, for committing a felony and thus the independent deputy was arrested for his act.

Floros’s version of insults

According to what Mr. Floros mentioned in a dialogue he had with Mr. Grammenos, he addressed him with abusive and insulting characteristics. According to everything Mr. Floros said, they had the following dialogue:

K. Floros: This will be decided by the judges.

B. Grammenos: Shut up you garbage.

K. Floros: Come on.

B. Grammenos: C@@ your mother… You, your mother, I will take you and with the bracelets inside you will remember it in the past.

The refutation of the Greek Solution

In a statement issued by the Hellenic Solution, it refutes the dialogue, noting: “For some time now, there has been circulating on all sites an imaginative so-called dialogue, between the MP of the Greek Solution Vassilis Grammenos and the MP of the Spartans, Konstantinos Floros. The dialogue in question was given by the accused himself – for a felony now – but also by some “well-wishers”, who are trying to involve the Greek Solution, inventing him as a line of defense”.
