THE decision of the Supreme Court to exclude the “Spartans” from the upcoming European electionsmay be a foreshadowing for the decision of the Electoral Court as for luck of the party’s seats in Parliament.

This is the assessment of legal circles involved in the case and they claim that since the Supreme Court ruled how the the real leader of the “Spartians” is Ilias Kasidiariswill probably recommend surprise if the Electoral Court decides otherwise.

It is recalled that the “Spartans” are accused of cheating the electorate and now the possibility of their deputies being declared deposed is more than visible.

The scripts for the what will happen in such a case start from proportional distribution of seats to the remaining parties and conclude in the repeat elections in the Regions where the “Spartans” elected a member of parliament.

For all the above directly interested Grigoris Paspatis and Sokratis Vardakis, first runner-up MPs in Heraklion for New Democracy and SYRIZA respectively, spoke to SKAI Crete 92.1. Given that the “Spartians” are based in the largest Municipality of Crete, it is possible that it will go to one of the two. Both anyway they state that they are following the developments calmlysince they cannot influence them anyway.

THE Mr. Paspatis, after emphasizing that recently he has somewhat distanced himself from politics, emphasizing medicine, he emphasized that in his opinion if repeat electionsthis will create a paradox: “I do not consider it improbable that elections will be held. But that will mean that where the run-offs are held, they will have been elected parliamentarians with a majority system while everyone the rest with analog. If the proportional coverage of the seats is qualified, I believe that the headquarters in Heraklion will be taken by New Democracy.

I believe that the decision of the Supreme Court to exclude the “Spartans” from the European elections is also indicative of what will happen at the Electoral Court. But right now we cannot make safe estimates, rather than just guessing. I believe, however, that the decision will be made soon, even before Easter”.

THE Mr. Vardakis for his part, he made roughly the same assessment, regarding the shortness of the decision, but he spoke about the period before the European elections. In his own opinion, if the seats of the “Spartans” are divided proportionally: “By 70%, SYRIZA will take the seat in Heraklion. Beyond that, however, we must admit that the existence of such formations in parliament is a total failure of the political system. Must let’s see what we’re not doing well and people turn to such choices”.

THE Mr. Vardakis also mentioned in the episode between to Mr. Floros and Mr. Grammenos: “It is really unacceptable, but we have experienced similar situations in the past with her “Golden Dawn” and I invoke and my own experience from the time I was a Member of Parliament. These behaviors are not random and the point would be for society to isolate them and send them home, not the courts”.

Regarding the upcoming European elections, Mr. Vardakis expressed optimism but also a concern for SYRIZA: “Recently, anodal tendency for us, but not as dynamic as it should be to allow us to do the reversal yet. We have time to go out into society, just we have to choose well who will do it and what they will say. As much as for the “Spartan” voters, I personally cannot say that they are not welcome one of them, even if it is not right to put them in the same fate as the executives of the party”.
