Turkish Defense Ministry sources: The discussion with Greece is in a friendly atmosphere

In the meeting on Confidence Building Measures (CBM) between Greece and Turkey that took place in Athens, sources from the Turkish Ministry of Defense were mentioned.

When asked about the details of the meeting, ministry sources noted the following:

“The meeting took place in Athens on April 22, 2024 in a friendly atmosphere. During the meeting, the previously agreed mutual activities to be carried out during 2024 were reviewed and work began on the Implementation Plan for 2025. In this context, the draft activities to be carried out in 2025, nine in Greece and nine in Turkey, were discussed.

The next meeting is in Turkey

“It was decided that the next meeting will take place in Turkey. On the other hand, in the framework of the previously agreed Implementation Plan for 2024, a delegation from the National Defense University will visit the Greek School of National Defense in June,” he added.

As is standard practice, the weekly press briefing by Turkish Defense Ministry spokesman Rear Admiral Zeki Akturk is followed by reports attributed to “sourced” answers to journalistic questions within the same briefing.
