Patras: Report to the General Assembly of the Trade Association

The annual general meeting was successfully held on Wednesday 24/4/2024 at the association’s offices.

In her central presentation, the President of the Association, Ermina Dionysatos, referred to the rich activity of the association during the past year. The Association had a number of interventions both in general and local issues and problems and was a pioneer in the struggle to solve them and in the effort of coordination and joint action of all interested parties.
Indicatively, he mentioned the jump in energy costs, the precision wave, inflation, uncontrolled increases and the financial obligations of households.
The board of directors participated in several meetings concerning either trade issues such as tax, insurance, development, but also local issues such as the coastal front, cultural events, the carnival, and traffic.
We attach particular importance to the changes that will come to the city with the pedestrianization of Maizonos, the Korinthos Kanakaris reaction which will affect trade.
Lately businesses are being tested with new costs and new procedures that apparently the state is not yet ready to support.
He mentioned the installation of pos and their interconnection with cash registers which create new costs for professionals.
At the same time, the staff card sets new standards and our association has intervened so that there is a reasonable period for both of the above measures in order for the market to adjust without the exorbitant fines that are devastating for small and medium-sized businesses.
Special reference was made to the large and difficult task that has and must be carried out through the Open Trade Centers program to support local businesses and upgrade the areas.
The Association organized and carried out events of social and recreational content giving the slogan of social solidarity but also of stimulating the local market and promoting the city through outreach actions.
In the fruitful discussion that followed, colleagues were thoroughly positioned on both the problems and the future of trade and the challenges of our time.
In closing, the Administrative and Financial Report of 2023 was voted in favor with 80%, justifying the Management of the Association.
