The Voluntary Blood Donation organized by the Municipality of Megalopolis with the support of the Blood Donation Department of the General Panarkadian Hospital of Tripoli took place yesterday Wednesday 4/24/2024 at the Megalopolis Health Center.
Blood is a social good and the social action of the Voluntary Blood Donation of the Municipality of Megalopolis is an important institution for the local community which was started in 2014 by Mr. Koureta Georgios municipal councilor for the period 2014-2019 and continued with great success from the previous municipal beginning (2019-2023) by the deputy mayor Mr. Siebo Dimitrios.
As a new Municipal Authority, we continue this successful life action towards fellow human beings and this was demonstrated in the most emphatic way through the response of our fellow citizens to the call of the Municipality of Megalopolis once again.
We sincerely thank all the citizens who came willingly to donate blood, offering life to our fellow human beings who need it, as well as to all those who came but for medical reasons were unable to donate blood. We are particularly satisfied with the participation of young people in donating blood, which gives hope for strengthening the institution of Voluntary Blood Donation, which nowadays has even greater value.
Finally, we warmly thank the hematologist Mr. Vlachos Panagiotis, the staff of the Blood Donation Department of the General Panarkadian Hospital of Tripoli and the Megalopolis Health Center for carrying out the blood donation in compliance with all health regulations for the protection of blood donors.
