Velopoulos is fishing in the murky waters of cultivating violence, toxicity and division

In his full-length interview with action24, Minister of State Makis Voridis started with the incident of violence in the Parliament, on Wednesday, describing it as “extremely unpleasant». Afterwards, after recalling that similar incidents had occurred in the past, he commented that many times the protest vote ends up electing representatives who do not honor the mandate they had received. Hence the responsibility of the voters, he concluded.

Especially for the “Spartiats” party, after clarifying that the judicial developments move on three levels (prosecution by the Supreme Court for voter fraud, the decision of the A1 Department of the Supreme Court on the descent into the European elections and the decision of the Special Court, as an electoral court, for the seats), he reminded that the A1 Department of the Supreme Court legally utilizes the provisions previously passed by the New Democracy government, when he himself was the Minister of the Interior.

Speaking, on the other hand, of “hidden leadership exercised by Kasidiaris”, he underlined that the government had, at the time, received criticism from the left-wing opposition. Therefore, he continued, “in the absence of the Left, with the Left opposite” the provision in question was passed.

At the same time, however, the Minister of State also made a political statement regarding the voters of the “Spartan” party: these votes are not going to come to the New Democracysince the ruling party has been charged with having the relevant legislative initiative.

“Others are fishing” for the specific audience, he emphasized and invoked a related position of the MEP candidate of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance (Vassilis Kasselakis), in which he initially described the specific votes as welcome (followed by a corrective statement). M. Voridis commented that he understands the inappropriate statements, especially by those who are not experienced with politics, however “they show something”.

In particular, regarding the decision of the Electoral Court, which is pending, M. Voridis proceeded with a labor case, as he pointed out, according to which if the court judges that he improperly participated in the elections that party, then, in their opinion, their votes should be removed and votes and seats redistributed, based on the new results.

However, the Minister of State launched, at the same time, a fierce attack against the president of the Hellenic Solution: characterizing, literally, unacceptable and provocative his exhortation that the MPs who voted for civil marriage equality should not go to churches on Easter days, he accused him that he is “fishing once again in the murky waters of cultivating violence, toxicity and division. They are wrong, the place had a bad time in those days. We had a hard time, when we had the collapse and bankruptcy of the country and some people from the floor of the Parliament told us that they would hang us, they told us about the gallows, the people’s courts and the squares, they encouraged us to commit adultery.
