The MP P.E. Kozanis and Head of Tourism SYRIZA P.S. Mr. Kalliopi Vetta spoke yesterday at the Plenary of the Parliament during the discussion of the bill of the Ministry of Culture, entitled: “Creative Greece: strengthening the cinematographic, audio-visual and creative sector, establishment of a body for the book and other provisions for modern culture».
Mrs. Vetta initially pointed out that this is another ND bill with fictitious titleas well as this shrinking and merging organizations of modern civilization, without until today the ND government having apologized for its actions. In addition, he pointed out that it is not possible for the ND to remember today, 5 years later, “Creative Greece”, when tin 2019 and 2020, funds of millions of euros were released from the Public Investment Program which SYRIZA had secured for Contemporary Culture actions throughout the country.

Does it mean “Creative Greece” without the support of the workers in Art and Culture?”
The same thing happens in the Book, noted the MP, referring to relevant provisions of the bill: “For 5 years you have been telling us that you will establish a body and while SYRIZA had already submitted a bill in 2019 for the establishment of a national body for the Book, after the late minister Myrsinis Zorbas, you also referred it to the Kalendas… and are you coming today and what are you doing? You add to another institution, the Greek Culture Foundation, the word “Book” in its title, creating a cumbersome structure, which does not answer any need of the Book ecosystem”.
Meanwhile, there isn’t no account nor for it Hellenic Foundation of Cultureas Ms. Vetta pointed out, expressing her concern that such sketchy arrangements constitute pretext to cover up opacity, damages and management deficits that the ND government has created in the cultural organizations.
