“Why are the Balkans in constant turmoil?”, “How can a historian objectively write history?”, “Is history constantly revised?”, “What do you know about the issue of the Chamids in Epirus?”, “Do you know the origin us gypsies?”, “Was Alexander the Great Greek?”, “Why did Greece find itself a small state under threat from a superpower?”.

Some of the interesting questions raised by students of the 2nd S.D.E. of Larissa to the historian, emeritus professor of history of the University of Athens Mrs. Maria Efthymiou during the interesting meeting they had with them at the school of the prison of Larissa.

Mrs. Efthymiou happily responded to the call of instructors and trainees of the “Communication Techniques” project, who suggested that she visit the school and conduct an interview/discussion with her on issues of national and world history. Soft-spoken and with a positive attitude, the internationally recognized historian answered the questions put to her, showed with examples the constant revisions of history, explained the uniqueness of the Balkans, talked about Pontic Hellenism and the history of the Black Sea and about the refugee situation today. Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the open two-hour conversation they had.
