Part of the famous windmill Moulin Rouge in the Paris collapsed today, Thursday (25/4), as reported by the French media.
THE red windmill of the attraction, which is depicted in the film of the same name, lost its main feature after its wings fell to the ground.
The collapse happened in the early hours of the morning, according to the French television channel BMF, information from which DW cites.

The firefighters stated that the reason for the collapse is not yet known and reported that no one was injured in the incident and that there is no longer a risk of further damage.
“Fortunately, this happened after the closing,” a source told the French agency. “Every week, the cabaret’s technical teams check the mechanism of the windmill and they didn’t notice any problem,” he added and emphasized that this is the first time such an accident has happened since it opened its doors on October 6, 1889.
The last major damage to the building was a fire which broke out during renovation in 1915 and led to the closure of part of it for a few years.

The cabaret house is one of the most visited attractions of the French capital and shares world-famous attraction status with Eiffel Tower and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris.
Known as the birthplace of the can-can dance, the majority of its visitors are tourists rather than locals.
