Patras: 31st International Guitar Festival Lisa Zoi & Evangelos Asimakopoulos

--

The 31st International Guitar Festival consistent with its established date will be held as every year at the “Philharmonic Society Odeon of Patras”, offering its friends a rich and extremely interesting program. An institution of more than thirty years, the Patras International Guitar Festival gives students of all ages the opportunity to take part in this celebration of the classical guitar that includes lessons, concerts, master classes, lectures, competitions and is for all participants a source of information , of encouragement, training and reflection.

This year’s guests are the Polish Marcin Dylla and the Belgian Johan Fostier, two of the leading soloists of their generation. The two artists who will also teach in Master classes, have to their credit countless distinctions and awards (among them the GFA), multiple appearances at Festivals as well as participations as soloists with symphony orchestras.

The program of the concerts also includes our distinguished soloists Manolis Vrontinos and Yiannis Giakoumakis as well as the talented young artists Konstantina Malapanis and Dinos Papadimitriou who won respectively the 1st and 2nd Prizes at last year’s competition of the International Guitar Festival in Patras. The Festival program is completed with two lectures given by University professor Thomas Noutsopoulos on the topic: “The classical guitar in the age of artificial intelligence” and researcher and guitarist Yiannis Efstathopoulos on the topic: “The guitar in Spain in the 19th century”.

Finally, it is already known that the last day of the Festival mainly belongs to the competitions of the three categories that will have our invited soloists as members of the committee.

The 31st International Guitar Festival of Patras warmly thanks Nikolas Ioannou and the Music House “Panasmusic” for their generous contribution to the organization of the guitar competitions and finally all those who support this institution.
