Felony charge for violence against a member of parliament, the Prosecutor charged the independent member of parliament, from the Spartans, Konstantinos Floros, for the attack inside the Parliament against the member of the Hellenic Solution, Vassilis Grammenos.

The serious incident that resulted in the injury of Mr. Grammenos, activated, with the immediate intervention of the Speaker of the Parliament, Kostas Tassoulas, the spontaneous processfor committing a felony and thus the independent MP he was immediately arrested after his act.

The same penalty shall be imposed if the act is directed against a leader recognized against the regulation of the Parliament of a political party”.

After the prosecution, the accused was taken to the Investigator, from whom he asked for a deadline, so his statement will be made tomorrow after one in the afternoon. Until then he will remain a prisoner.

The incident took place earlier today while the debate on lifting the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, was ongoing in the Plenary Session of the Parliament, after lawsuit for defamation testified against him by the father of Constantinos Floros. The defendant, before attacking, had an intense dialogue with Mr. Grammenos inside the room. When they were both outside the room, Mr. Floros attacked and he punched the deputy of the Hellenic Solution.

According to the statements of the defendant’s lawyer, Vassos Pantazis, the incident had preceded “vulgar verbal attack” of the victim to her principal. The advocate referred to “justified indignation” as “provided for and defined in the criminal law”. At the same time, Mrs. Pantazi, expressing surprise at the criminal charge against Mr. Floros, spoke of “legal exaggeration” over an unfortunate personal incident.

It is worth noting that from the attack, Vassilis Grammenos suffered a broken nose.

In particular, according to medical bulletinthe MP suffered: “fractured nasal bones, sprain and strain of the acromioclavicular joint, traumatic rupture of the carpal and carpal ligament, and other specified disorders of the nose. Following these, Mr. Grammenos will require a carpal tunnel rest splint, a suspension-rest folder arm and 10 days sick leave is recommended”.
