The ecological disaster from above – The drone images are heartbreaking
The scale of the ecological disaster in the “lake” Aposelemis, was recorded by drone and Antonis Kalogerakis. The heartbreaking images, as the the setting is still eerie, with dead fish floating in its estuary.
The issue, which had first highlighted the neakriti.Gr with the dead fish washed up at the mouth of the Aposelemis river in the area of the Analipsis Peninsula, they cause worry and sadness.
The water is black in several places, with residents and visitors also complaining about the strong stench. The phenomenon was noticed last Friday, with citizens and visitors to express their concern and photograph the images of environmental degradation.
According CRETE TV report, the mayor’s reaction was immediate Chersonissou who informed all the agencies involved. A team from the responsible Directorate of the Region of Crete was found at the scene, collecting water samples and dead fish.
And last year this alarming phenomenon was recorded, with the first estimates pointing to a lack of oxygen as the cause of fish death, while in the coming days, the analyzes by ELEKETHE are expected to shed light on the causes surrounding the mass mortality of fish.
