About the “unacceptable”, as they characterized it, decision to expand fish farms in Kynouria, by 34%, they spoke on the Municipal Radio of Tripoli and on the show “Randevou tis five” with Eleni Traka, the President of the Association of Tourist Accommodations of Eastern Arcadia Vivian Manolesou as and the member Panagiotis Karahalios, who is also the President of the Cultural Association of the Arkadik Village.

Arkadiko Chorio is one of the areas that will be greatly affected by the expansion of fish farming, while the same will happen in areas of both the Municipality of North Kynouria and the Municipality of South Kynouria.

Both emphasized that the expansion should not take place because it is destroying their area for tourism and the environment and asked for an immediate opinion from the Regional Council, as has happened with the Municipal Councils which are against the expansion.

We should also mention that they have also met with Mr. Nikos Tagaras, Deputy Minister of Environment and are waiting to see what the final decisions of the Ministry of Environment will be.

They even noted that it is typical that the same companies that want to expand fish farming are the same ones that pay for the preparation of the studies.

However, it is typical that the people involved in tourism do not hide their anxiety, since, as Ms. Manolesou, it is not enough that Arcadia does not have increased tourism, they want to finish us off with the fish farming.
