TOGETHER FOR ANDROS: The Municipality of Andros in the age of best men.
Mr. Sousoudis is tragically predictable. He repeats everything he did in the five years 2014-2019 as Mayor both in terms of behavior and practice in the administration of the Municipality. It proceeded with a direct assignment of 300,000 euros with the legitimate process of extending the cleaning contract. And just for the fact that the contractor of the contract is a contractor who also happens to be the best man of Mr. Sousoudis, the Mayor should think about this move twice or thrice. What could he do differently?
Things are very simple: he should tender for such a large sum.
The Municipality’s budget has been approved since February, since then the tender process should run and in the interim and until the tender is completed it could cover the possible gap with a small assignment of 20 to 30 thousand euros. Mr. Sousoudis, however, chose to lead Andros once again into the constellation of cleaning contractors and assignments.
In this way, however, the Municipality of Andros is damaged since it loses the discount that the contract contractor would have given, which in any case could amount to tens of thousands of euros, while at the same time excluding other contractors who would have participated if a tender were held for the specific project.
Mr. Soussoudis, before the election, was against direct assignments except for small ones as he said… apparently the threshold for small assignments was raised to 300,000 euros. After the assignments, the divisions will follow, because as we said, Mr. Sousoudis is repeating himself from the period 2014-2019.
Beyond that: so that Andros does not find itself in a dead end with garbage, the proposal we have submitted to the municipal authority remains on the table. If they want us to discuss and follow the path of agreement so that we do not face a problem with waste management, we are ready and willing to participate in this effort and help our country.
