The Panhellenic Maritime Federation (PNO) has decided to participate in the pan-Hellenic – all-trade strike on May Day and thus the ships will remain tied up in the ports on Wednesday.

In particular, the May Day strike announced by GSEE and which concerns all categories of ships nationwide will begin at 00:01 in the morning on Wednesday (1.5.2024), and will end at 24:00 of the same day.

At the same time, the trade union of the sailors pointed out: “The Sailors once again this year pay tribute, respect and memory to the emblematic day that literally changed the course of history and is identified and intertwined with the multifaceted struggles of all Workers in the Country us and the whole world”.

PNO calls for the absorption of all unemployed seafarers, the elimination of black uninsured work, the implementation of Collective Labor Agreements in all categories of ships and the immediate abolition of all anti-labor provisions.

He also points out that a barrier must finally be put in place to the continuous violation of the legal hours and employment limits of the Marines, the reduced organizational compositions must be immediately abolished and new ones established that really meet modern needs.

He also considers the upgrading of medical care to be imperative and immediate.
