Deputy Mayor of Cleanliness & Recycling: Information campaign for shopkeepers – “The goal is for all of us to enjoy a better and cleaner city” notes the Deputy Mayor, Dimitris Leonidakis

The Municipality of Larissa and the Deputy Mayor of Cleanliness & Recycling have launched an information campaign for shopkeepers operating in the city center. A special crew of employees of the Cleaning Service, in the role of “assistant to the citizen”, carry out a “trip” to the central shopping streets, with the aim of informing about good waste management practices.

Already, for a week, the information to the shopkeepers of commercial and catering activities has started, with the beginning being done, as mentioned above, from the center of the city, while then the districts will follow. Shopkeepers are informed about the articles of the Cleanliness Regulation that pertain to each category of shop, such as collection programs, suitable bags (size, closure, quality), how to manage cardboard boxes, glass bottles, organic waste, etc. . Relevant material is also distributed to the managers of the stores, while the “citizen’s assistants” team collects any comments and suggestions, as well as reports of problems or suggestions for better cooperation with the cleaning services of the Municipality of Larissa.

“The goal is the cooperation with all the citizens involved, so that we all enjoy a better and cleaner city”, notes the responsible Deputy Mayor of Cleanliness & Recycling, Mr. Dimitris Leonidakis. It should be noted that there have been previous meetings with the competent bodies and associations (Emporiko, SICAEL, Producers-Sellers of People’s Markets), in view of the amendment of the Cleanliness Regulation of the Municipality of Larissa. Those interested in more information can contact the relevant Services: 2410.680.200 (Cleaning) and 2410.575.050 (Collection).
