The Department of Animal Production, Fisheries, Beekeeping and Sericulture of the Directorate of Agricultural Economy of the Regional Unit of Kozani, according to the Decision of the Deputy Regional Governor of P.E. Kozanis Mr. Vyza Konstantinou with A.P. 66569/24-04-2024 which was posted in “Diaugia” with AD: 66ΔP7ΛΨ-3Ρ6, announces:
1. The ban on fishing, professional and amateur, with any means and fishing gear to protect the reproduction of fish and other aquatic organisms from on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 06:00 a.m. until Monday, June 10, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
2. During the closed fishing season, fishermen are required to take their fishing boats and gear home.
3. By way of derogation from this, sampling for research purposes is permitted by the competent Services, Research Institutions or University Institutions, after the consent of the Animal Production, Fisheries, Beekeeping and Sericulture Department of the D.A.O. P.E. Kozani and in accordance with the provisions on the protection of wild fauna and flora.
4. We entrust the observance and implementation of this to the Police Authorities of our Prefecture in accordance with the applicable provisions.
5. Offenders are prosecuted in accordance with the provisions in force (Law 1740/87 as amended by the provisions of Law 2040/92, Official Gazette A΄/70/92). Violations of fishing regulations and decisions are subject to administrative penalties and criminal sanctions (imposition of a fine, seizure and sale of illegally caught products, seizure and sale or destruction of fishing gear and devices).
