347 Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Kia EV6 are being recalled in Greece

--

189 Hyundai Ioniq 5 produced from June 2023 to November 2023, 26 Ioniq 6 produced from June 2023 to November 2023 and 132 Kia EV6 produced from September 2021 to December 2023 that have been imported into Greece by the Official Importer are recalled in our country because it may, due to a possible malfunction of the internal ICCU charging unit, not charge the 12V battery which, if the driver continues to drive the vehicle despite the activated low charge warning light, gradually discharges to the point of full discharge.

Consequently, it may cause the vehicle to stop, thus increasing the risk of an accident. Therefore, it is considered appropriate and necessary to upgrade the software of the ICCU unit, even if it needs to be replaced along with the fuse.

So far, in Greece, no case of an accident has been reported, related to this specific issue. The owners of the involved vehicles will be informed personally and in writing, by registered letter, so that they can come, after a telephone appointment, to the nearest Partner of the Hyundai Authorized Repairer Network throughout Greece, in order, and without any financial burden, to carry out/complete the procedure software upgrade on the ICCU charging unit and/or its replacement.
