Wood in the Greek Parliament: MP Konstantinos Floros attacked with…

--

An unprecedented incident in Parliamentby independent member of parliament (former Spartan) Konstantinos Floros to attack and punch the Hellenic Solution MP, Basil Grammeno.

The occasion was the discussion in the Plenary Session of the Parliament of the lifting of the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, whose case concerned defamation through a false account on a social network that had been submitted by an officer of the Navy, who is also the father of Mr. Flor.

Mr. Floros asked to take the floor in the Plenary, however the Rules did not allow it and he was not given it, reacting to the report of the parliamentary representative of the Hellenic Solution, Konstantinos Chitas, about carbine pre-election political expediency which, although it does not concern Mr. Velopoulos, requested the waiver of his immunity to appear before his natural judge.

After an intense dialogue that they had in the room and an exchange of insults and vulgar characterizations, the fight continued outside, where Floros grabbed Grammenos by the throat, headlocked him and punched him.

Grammenos fell down, and the guard immobilized Floros, who was removed through the intercom, who continued to curse the other deputy.

The Hellenic Solution MP was then rushed to the Parliament’s clinic, in order to provide him with first aid.

The dialogue they had

Floros: This will be decided by the judges
Gramenos: Shut up you trash
Floros: Come on…
Written: C@@ your mother… I’m going to c@@@ you your mother, I’ll take you with the bracelets inside, you’ll remember it long ago

The two of them went out of the hall and then Konstantinos Floros grabbed him by the neck and threw him down, hitting him with his fists.

Expulsion for 15 days from the Parliament

A little later the President of the Parliament, Kostas Tasoulas, decided to impose the removal of Mr. Floros from the work of the Parliament for 15 days.

He spoke of brutal behavior by the independent MP and announced that there would be a waiver of immunity and he would face legal consequences. As he even said, it is a penalty of caress, but based on the Rules of the Parliament, there is no greater one.

“Unfortunately, the Rules of Procedure do not provide for this brutal behavior and it is lenient, because when we made it, we considered that we were addressing intelligent people. I am asking for the House’s permission to remove the deputy with the guard for 15 days from the work of the House. I would like the Your permission. It is a caress against his vulgarity. Obviously there will be a removal of his immunity, but there is nothing more serious. He will obviously be referred to the ethics committee.”

How the fight started

It all started during the Plenary meeting on the issue of lifting the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, on the occasion of a lawsuit filed by K. Floros’ father, for defamation.

According to the lawsuit, an account on Twitter insulted the father of Mr. Floros and according to him, the administrator was Mr. Velopoulos.

According to other information, Grammenos has filed a lawsuit several months ago against the father of MP K. Floros for defamation through the press and insult.

During the voting and at the moment when the two deputies were in the Plenary, the verbal episode began.

SYRIZA for the beating of V. Grammenos by K. Floros

SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance unequivocally and unequivocally condemns the beating of “Hellenic Solution” member of parliament, Vassilis Grammenos, by former “Spartia” member of parliament, Konstantinos Floros, right outside the Plenary Chamber of the Parliament.

“This unprecedented and unimaginable incident demonstrates the contempt of far-right formations for the parliament and emphatically reminds us of the danger posed to our democracy by the tolerance of hate speech and thuggery. Inside and outside the Parliament”, emphasizes SYRIZA. He adds that “all progressive forces must raise a wall of solidarity and respect against the challenges of the far-right who want to turn the Parliament and Greek society into a jungle”.
