With the aim of the harmonious coexistence of all participants, experiential actions were jointly designed, the main aim of which was to cultivate empathy and acceptance through interaction, with the ultimate goal of a better position for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders in society.
On the occasion of a short animated video, the students of the Klimatias Kindergarten came into contact with some of the peculiarities of autism. Throughout the action, they co-existed harmoniously and cooperatively with the beneficiaries of the “Helen Gyra” Shelter in the library area. They played the sensory finder games together, set up glass pyramids to play bowling, created various prints on cardboard and finally made truffles for us to enjoy.
The action was planned and implemented by the teachers of the Library of Knowledge and Emotion of Zosimaia Areti Lagou, Sonia Gertzou and Eleni Kamposiori, the internship students of the University of Ioannina Sofia Charalambidou, Sofia Kaloutsidou, Eleni Sideroglou and Mourik Marianna, in collaboration with the director of the Shelter Autistic People “Eleni Gyra” Katerina Georgakopoulou and the head of Klimatias Kindergarten, kindergarten teacher Maria Topoliati.
