From today, the meat market enters Easter rhythms, as the butchers will make agreements on the prices and quantities of lambs that will be procured from the large markets of Drama, Kilkis, Larissa, Agrinio, Amfilochia and Tritaia.
The honorary president of the Butchers’ Association of Patras, Dionysis Andreopoulos, told “Peloponnisos” that on the market this year there is a sufficiency of amnoeriphisdespite the fact that it preceded the Catholic Easter and exports were up 20% to Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany.
THE domestic livestock production was increased and there is sufficiency milk lambswhere is more expensivebut also larger ones weighing 12 to 17 kgwhich they cost cheaperdue to quality.
The latter, as Mr. Andreopoulos said, will be allocated primarily for the Easter basketas they are cheaper. Good lambs, i.e. those weighing up to 6-7 kg, will be paidsaid Mr. Andreopoulos.
