Discounts on ferry and plane tickets for substitute teachers for Easter

Discounts on ferry and plane tickets will be available to substitute Primary and Secondary Education teachers for the academic year 2023-2024, in order to go to their place of permanent residence for the Easter holidays.

Particularly:

Ferry tickets

With a joint initiative of the Ministries of Education, Religion and Sports and Maritime and Island Policy, discounts of up to 50% are announced on the ferry tickets for deputy teachers:

– Fast Ferries 30% discount for passengers and 20% for their vehicles for the period from 25/4/2024 to 29/4/2024 for those traveling from the islands to Attica and from 9/5/2024 to 13/5 /2024 for their movements from Attica to the islands,

– ATTICA GROUP 50% discount for passengers, in I.X. their vehicles and engines for the period from 19/4/2024 to 13/5/2024,

– Minoan Lines 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles in the period from 26/4/2024 to 12/05/2024 on the line PIRAEUS-MILOS-HERAKLEIOS-PIRAEUS,

– Golden Star Ferries 30% discount for passengers and 20% for their vehicles in the period from 26/4/2024 to 4/5/2024 from the islands to Rafina and from 6/5/2024 to 12/5/2024 from Rafina towards the islands,

– Saronic Ferries 30% discount for passengers to the islands of Aegina, Souvala, Agistrio, Methana and Poros until the end of the school term,

– Skyros Marine Company 50% discount for passengers and their vehicles for the current year,

– AEGEAN SEA LINES (from Piraeus to Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Kimolos with the ship ANEMOS) 50% discount for passengers, in I.X. their vehicles and engines in the period from 1/5/2024 to 3/5/2024 from islands to Piraeus and from 8/5/2024 to 11/5/2024 from Piraeus to islands,

– Dodekanissos Sea Ways 50% discount for passengers throughout the Easter period,

– ZANTE FERRIES ANMEZAE 50% discount for passengers, on I.X. their vehicles and engines for the period from 26/4/2024 to 12/5/2024.

Necessary supporting documents for the provision of the discount will be the relevant decision of the Ministry of Education, Religions and Sports, which mentions their recruitment, as well as their Police ID.

Airline tickets from the Sky Express company

During the Easter days, the 30% discount that Sky Express has announced since the beginning of the school year, in response to the relevant request of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports, is valid. Thus, each substitute teacher can issue a reduced ticket for his transition from the place of service to the place of permanent residence and vice versa.

The discount is provided with the unique code that the beneficiaries have received since their recruitment, as long as they have not already used up the ten (10) routes for which the discount is granted.

The Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis thanks the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Christos Stylianidis as well as the ferry companies and the airline Sky Express for their immediate response to the Ministry of Finance’s request for the provision of the above facilities.

The initiative is part of the ongoing care but also the essential recognition of the work of teachers, who offer their best in the educational process.
