WHAT THE ARCADIA CHAMBER REPORTS

THE meteorological station of the Chamber of Arcadialocated on the premises of the Chamber, collected detailed data on the micro-climate of Tripoli and contributed to the study and understanding of climatic and atmospheric conditions.

Her Tuesday, April 23, 2024, there was a huge increase in the concentration of suspended particulate matter (PM) diameter 10 and 2.5 μm in Tripoli.

More specifically, he recorded:
– for PM10 maximum concentration 1510.108 µg/m^3 and an average concentration of 97.22 µg/m^3
– for PM2.5 maximum concentration 288.41 µg/m^3 and an average concentration of 23.03 µg/m^3

According to the World Health Organization:

– For PM10the maximum allowable daily limit is 15 μg/m^3while 24/hour exposure to more than 45 μg/m^3 for more than 3-4 days a year is associated with serious health problems.

-For PM2.5the maximum allowable daily limit is only 5 µg/m^3while 24/hour exposure to more than 15 μg/m^3 for more than 3-4 days a year is responsible for problems in the cardiorespiratory function.

The Chamber of Arcadia recommends, during such phenomena, companies to take the appropriate organizational or technical measures, after assessing the risks especially for those working in open spaces and it is recommended to use personal protective equipment such as masks.
