The attitude of the PASOK faction all these months in the Peloponnese Regional Council has caused a serious impression. Low tones, an opposition that is characterized as sluggish at best and tolerance, if not support, for the Pochos faction.
But now, impressions turned into objective facts. At the first meeting of the Health committee, Mr. Koutsoulis, head of the PASOK faction in the Regional Council, was supported and voted as vice-president by the faction close to New Democracy. Let’s remember that the PASOK Faction was ranked 4th in the Regional elections, while usually a person from the official opposition is chosen for the position of vice president, or a person proposed by the opposition in consultation with the other factions.
The conclusion that emerges from the above is that the Ptohou and Koutsouli factions, that is, the factions close to New Democracy and PASOK are in agreement and have cooperation. A collaboration reminiscent of the days of the memorandums and the period of the ND-PASOK co-government. It looks like history is repeating itself since in the previous composition of the Regional Council, the PASOK faction under Mr. Budruga was fully aligned with the Nika faction which had a marginal majority in the Regional Council.
Really what is the opinion of the democratic citizens of Peloponnese seeing this image? Could it be that the appointment of Mr. Koutsoulis as vice-president in the Health Committee is a harbinger of another transfer from PASOK to ND like the dozens that have become accustomed in recent years? After all, New Democracy’s Euroballot is full of former PASOK executives and MPs.
For its part, our faction, “Peloponnisos First” is committed to being the voice of every democratic citizen in the Regional Council.
In the framework of our institutional role, we will ensure legitimacy in the Regional Council and any other anti-institutional movement will find us opposite, whether it comes from the Pochos faction, a faction of the ND – which did not allow the resolution of the Regional Council to be read and put to a vote Ms. Karystianou for Tempi – either from the PASOK faction, if she does not change course on the path she has chosen.
We will not allow opaque decisions and agreements to be made under the table. We will ensure the interests of the Peloponnesians and we will fight with all our strength, so that the Health system, Infrastructure and Environment in the Peloponnese Region do not deteriorate any further.
