Effective from today (24.4.2024) until Holy Saturday (4.5.2024) the “Easter Basket” will be available in supermarkets. Includes lamb, goat, bun and chocolate eggs.

The “Easter Basket” is implemented for the second year in a row, following the “Household Basket”, in order to hold down the prices of products with increased demand. It includes 4 food categories that fill the Easter table of consumers: lamb, goat, bun, Easter chocolate eggs and corresponding products.

The aim is to maintain the price of arrowroot at last year’s levels, at 10 euros per kilo. In a survey carried out by IELKA regarding the spending and habits of consumers this Easter, it is estimated that on average this year’s expenditure per household will amount to 190 euros, of which 120 euros for groceries and 70 euros for other items, such as gifts.

At the same time, INKA calculated that the Easter table (on the night of the Resurrection and on Easter day) for 6 to 8 people, will cost 355.88 euros this year, increased by 6% compared to last year.

Festive hours from tomorrow

The festive opening hours start tomorrow, Thursday, April 25, with stores operating from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday, April 28, the association’s shops are proposed to be open from 11 am to 4 pm.

For Holy Week from Holy Monday to Holy Thursday the suggested opening hours are continuous 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, Good Friday from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Holy Saturday from 9:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon.

On Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the shops will be closed. On Tuesday they will be closed due to the postponement of the May Day celebration.
