The former Mayor and head of the major opposition in the Municipality of Tripoli, Mr. Yiannis Smyrniotis, spoke on the Municipal Radio of Tripoli and the show “Epi tis oussias”.
Initially, Mr. Smyrniotis, speaking about the issue raised by Mr. Gourgaris about water management, emphasized that everything shows that this issue will be the major problem in the coming years due to climate change. Regarding the Taka lake irrigation system, he emphasized, among other things, that it is time to be able to utilize this reservoir even more.
“We have to look more broadly at the flood protection of the entire plateau. At the same time, some things are needed, such as the periodic cleaning of the sinkholes”, he said afterwards, while also referring to the issue of water privatization.
Even Mr. Smyrniotis, speaking about all the projects that are developing in our area, emphasized: “It has become tiring to keep hearing that others are to blame. The fact that they are constantly including projects and in the end not being able to complete anything is a problem”, while he also referred to specific projects (Spiritual center, etc.).
Immediately afterwards, speaking about the topic opened at the last meeting regarding the strays, he stated: “It is a fact that an excessively large number of – in my opinion – vaccines has been supplied. It’s not our role to play detective.”
Finally, he invited the people to visit Tripoli on Easter, while he also sent his best wishes to everyone.
