Larisa forecaster Fanis Hatzigrivas made his own assessment of the Easter weather, asking the citizens to… close their ears to the anonymous forecasts. He adds that it won’t snow, it won’t be cold, but there might be some weather instability…
His assessment in detail: “We hear and read a lot these days about the development of the Weather during Holy Week and especially on Easter day.
Unfortunately most of the references are made by people not related to the “sport” in quotes, so any confusion is reasonable on your part.
But the reality is the following…
From a meteorological point of view, we are in the most difficult time for uncertain forecasts and especially in the long term due to the temperature anomaly that prevails in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
At the given moment in time, things become even more difficult, as both on the European continent, as well as on the African continent, two huge air currents, on the one hand the polar one and on the other the subtropical (warm) one, are at their maximum activity for the season always, resulting in frequent temperature changes and in some cases extreme ones.
Example the recent heavy snows in the mountains of the central and northern country, but with the simultaneous baking of the South! (Crete above 34 degrees!)
This situation is theoretically called “spring” and in reality it is completely normal I would say in parts, if we even consider that we are entering the month of May, which is par excellence a month with absolute instability and thermal storms.
So what can we do with the whole current present, but also future situation in the atmosphere to wait for both Holy Week and Easter Sunday?
Certainly no snow, not cold as we read too much just a local instability that can hardly be predicted at the moment and with the possibility of a little more rain mainly in the west and north and in the event that a cold lake is cut off in inlets, in the wider area of the central Mediterranean and the Italy.
I believe that the rains in the next few days and especially from Friday onwards, and until the middle of the new week will be little or zero in most areas, with a noticeable rise in temperature and with a big question mark, about what will happen after the Great Wednesday or Maundy Thursday.
We will definitely talk again, so close your ears and eyes to anonymous predictions or estimates and don’t be anxious about Easter, whether under the sun, or in the sun, I’m just as delicious as the lamb. I hope that everything will go smoothly and that both the market and Easter tourism will work, something that our country needs”.
