Fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus announced on Instagram that he and his husband, Marco Maestri, became parents. The couple had twins on April 20, apparently through a surrogate mother and the photo of the babies is making the rounds on the internet.
Although most of the comments seen on the French designer’s post read “congratulations“, many of his followers report, that comments criticizing the fact that the gay couple had children with a surrogate are being deleted.
Most of those who commented negatively on the above, wondered “why didn’t they adopt children?” with a long discussion about “instrumentalization of women” and “baby market» to have overshadowed the happy moment in the life of the designer and his husband. “Children are not sold, women’s wombs are not rentedsomeone writes. “They buy babies like they bought 2 potatoes from the supermarket, simple as thatanother noted.
“Another privileged white rich gay man acting like a privileged white rich gay man. What a surprise” someone else wrote.

The couple had twins on April 20 and the designer wanted to share his joy with his friends by posting a photo with his children on his personal Instagram account.
It shows their hands, on which they wear two bracelets with their names, Mia and Shan, and their date of birth.
Captioning his post, Simon Port-Jacquemus wrote: “Mia and San. Welcome to earth, our loves. We love you so much. Our dream came true with you. Papa Marco and Papa Simon” without, however, making any mention of the woman who brought them into the world.
The couple tied the knot two years ago in 2022 in a spectacular ceremony in the South of France. After the sacrament, a reception followed at the Château de Bonneval in Charleval.
The two generally prefer to keep a low profile and stay out of the limelight, sharing whatever they want with their social media audience.
