Free Easter workshops from PIOP in Athens

The Cultural Foundation of the Piraeus Group (PIOP) welcomes Easter and organizes creative workshops, for young and old, in the Foundation’s building in Tavros.

More details: Easter decorations embroidered with traditional stitches On Wednesday 24, Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April 2024 (11:30-13:30) three autonomous Easter workshops for adults are organized. The participants, drawing inspiration from the PIOP publication Traditional Stitches from the Collection of the “Dora Stratos” Theater by Dimitra Papoutsopoulos and with the guidance of archaeologist Voula Kalliodis, will make Easter decorations from felt and then embroider them with traditional stitches.

This is what the internationally recognized visual artist, creator of the 60s generation, Kostas Tsoklis, mentions, among others, in his text, which accompanies the “Art and Information” Exhibition, which is organized and presented by the Educational Foundation of ESIEA on April 22 in Athens.

The Exhibition, which is an artistic approach to the topic of modern information, will take place at the Library of ESIEA “Dimitris I. Pournaras” (Akadimias 20, 2nd floor).

It includes 24 works (collages) plus One, which is also the central reference point of the Exhibition. It is about the work “Information”, from 1972, which has been presented in the past, in many parts of the world: Germany, France, Italy, etc. The remaining 24 are new works, created especially for the Exhibition, in which he has used both as a subject and as a material, the artistic newspaper itself of the period 1991–2016.
