“Let not a single vote be missing.” This will be the “motto” of PASOK until June 9, since Harilaou Trikoupis remains optimistic about the second place in the European elections. Despite the image that the PASOK polls give, they are based on the continuous upward trajectory of the party since the day “the reins” were taken over by Nikos Androulakiswho insists on the logic of “I prefer to be useful rather than entertaining».

Everyday life at the center of PASOK

The president of PASOK is expected to tour Western Greece this week, and his program will move into corresponding “high gear” until the European elections. But at the heart of his tactics Nikos Androulakis will always find itself bringing its agenda to the center of the political debate everyday life of the citizen.

Emphasis will therefore be placed on the issues of accuracy and deconstruction of the Mitsotakis narrative about “falling prices”, especially when the evidence points to hyper-quadruplation. Also in matters concerning the state of the National Health System, whose defense remains the emblematic position of PASOK. At the same time, in the issues of citizen security where the government records continuous failures even though it was an issue that had been “flagged”.

The statement of Nikos Androulakis during his visit to Varvakeio was also indicative of this. He pointed out that “the Prime Minister, visiting Rentis market, described to us how well it is doing with accuracy. How well it is doing, the Greek people are experiencing in their pockets.

Eurostat’s figures are revealing. In March, as you will see, the growth rate of food inflation in Greece was more than four times the average of the European Union. Punctuality, housing costs and the state of the National Health System undermine the everyday life of the Greek people.

That is why, in the European elections of June 9th, political stability is not judged. The arrogance of the government, which despises the real problems of the citizens, is judged. That’s why I’m asking for your support. To show us their trust to have a strong, reliable and serious opposition the next day which will make the New Democracy change its trope and look at the real problems of the citizens”.

Opposition of substance

In this field, they consider Harilaou Trikoupis to have an advantage both over the government, which they are “squeezing” with a combination of political initiatives and specific proposals, and over SYRIZA. PASOK believes that it has so far demonstrated the elements of a substantial and well-documented opposition that produces, in addition to political discourse, tangible results.

He considers as typical examples the cases where, by pressuring, he “pulled” the government to take specific measures in the right direction, such as for example the changes in the institutional framework for the Golden Visa and the increase in rates in order to limit non-Hellenization in the area of residence. We remind you that this issue was systematically “taken upon” by Nikos Androulakis himself.

Also in Harilaou Trikoupi they commemorate the recent initiative of PASOK to file a motion of no confidence in the parliament. A move that some estimated would make no sense while the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, predicted that it would lead to a “cockfight”. Nevertheless, this initiative cost the Maximos Palace very dearly since it was forced to dismiss two ministers of state and close associates of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

On this basis, PASOK will move dynamically in the coming weeks, relying on the high level of support it seems to have with the central goal of expressing itself at the ballot box. Calling on voters to support it for reasons of substance and with the expectation of a “rebaptized” presence that will be another step ahead of the national elections.
