Heraklion: The robbery at the OPAP agency with loot of 11,310 euros was solved – Three people were identified

The thorough investigation by the police authorities and more specifically by the police officers of the Heraklion Security sub-directorate, as well as the analysis of the course of action, resulted in the investigation of a robbery case, which was committed in an operation in Heraklion.

For this case, three (3) persons were identified against whom a relevant case file was filed. In addition, the two national defendants were arrested for violations of the Legislation on narcotics, weapons and theft.

In more detail and according to the police announcement, the analysis of the mode of action and the thorough investigation by the policemen of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate resulted in the investigation of a case of robbery, which was committed in an operation in Heraklion. For this case, three people were identified (2 citizens and a foreigner) against whom a relevant case file was filed. In addition, the two nationals were arrested for the specific offenses of the Legislation on narcotics, weapons and theft.

In particular, after midnight hours of 08.04.2024 in Heraklion, perpetrators with their facial features covered and the use of violence against the local employee of the company, they removed a bag containing the sum of 11,310 euros and personal documents and items and fled.

From the police investigation and preliminary investigation and after the appropriate utilization of information from the above Service, it emerged that, after midnight on 08.04.2024, one of the nationals and the foreigner, using a two-wheeled motorcycle which they had taken away at an earlier time, committed the above robbery and escaped with her, while then they met with the second citizen who was waiting for them in I.X.E. car, leaving the motorcycle.

In the morning hours today (23.04.2024), by police officers of the aforementioned Service, in collaboration with police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate and the Heraklion Crime Prevention and Suppression Team, a coordinated police operation was carried out during which, after the two citizens were located, they followed searches of the houses in and were arrested, while the foreigner is being sought.

During the investigations, the following were found and seized:

• The amount of money of four thousand three hundred (4,300) euros

• Small amount of cannabis

• Seven (7) mobile phones with five (5) mobile SIM cards

• One (1) knife

• Two (2) recording machines

Removed two-wheeled motorcycle and victim’s bag with personal documents, found and returned to their owners,

The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Security Directorate of Heraklion.
