The tender for Attiki Odos has ended, but the “suitors” may be increasing.
As is known, GEK TERNA has been declared the contractor. The consortium Vinci – MYTILINEOS was declared second in the bidding process.
Yesterday, on the sidelines of the E-65 parts delivery event, the president and CEO of GEK TERNA, George Peristeris, said that the company has received blows, from other companies, for their inclusion in the joint stock scheme that will take advantage of the new highway concession.
Although he did not reveal them, he emphasized that “no decision has been made yet”. However, he did not seem particularly “warm” to such a prospect.
According to construction market analysts, “it seems possible that some multinational group has submitted a relevant proposal”.
At what price? “Beyond any monetary considerationperhaps the establishment of a joint venture for projects abroad,” commented the same analyst.
Regarding the extensions of the Attica Road to Lavrio, Rafina and Vouliagmenis Street and the “Prototype Proposal” submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure by the joint venture of GEK Terna – Aktor Perachorises – Avax, Mr. Peristeris pointed out that “doesn’t see any movement on the part of the government,” noting that interventions are needed to deal with traffic in Athens.
For BOAK and the middle section (Heraklion – Chania) it appeared concerned about appeals regarding the drawing, underlining that he is not able to estimate when the relevant contract will be signed, while for the airport in Kasteli he estimated that it will be completed in 2026.
Finally, for “GEK TERNA Concessions”, he emphasized that various scenarios are being considered, without final decisions having been made, while at another point in his speech he argued that public debts to manufacturers are significant.
