The original painting competition for elementary, middle and high school students of the Municipality of Oreokastro on the theme “The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and I” is completed and “gives its place” to the exhibition of the works of the students who participated.

The competition was conducted by the Municipality of Oriokastro, the deputy mayors of Contemporary Culture, Extroversion and Protection of Companion Animals and Philharmonic and Crisis Management, Civil Protection and Citizen Protection, the Youth Council of the Municipality of Oriokastro and the Culture Club “Filotechnon”. The aim of this initiative was to raise awareness and inform the citizens of the Municipality of Oriokastro, so that sustainable development becomes a way of life.

The works of the children who participated in the competition will be presented at a special event-painting exhibition that will take place in the Art Gallery of the Municipality of Oreokastro (Gavra 22, Oreokastro) on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 11 am. “Come and discover together the creations of young artists and discuss for a fairer, more sustainable, for a simply better planet!”, the members of the Youth Council of Oreokastro mention in their call.

During the exhibition, the award ceremony of the participantsas well as an experiential game, to make the 17 Sustainable Development Goals more widely known to the public.

Also, one will be set up round-table (round table), to give all young people the opportunity to express their concerns about the future and sustainability of our planet, opening a fruitful discussion between experts from the field of culture and the environment and young people.

The members of the Youth Council of the Oreokastro Municipality emphasize in their call:

“In accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 13- Climate Action, we are organizing this action of our Council in zero-waste standards! This means that you will not see posters and other promotional material of the action, and we will reduce the use of single-use plastics to a minimum. Because it is important to put into practice what we preach!

The Oreiokastro Youth Council is waiting for you all on Sunday, April 28, at 11 am, in the Art Hall of the Oreiokastro Municipality, to get to know young visions and concerns through art!
