The Public Prosecutor calls the farmers for the mobilizations

--

The farmers who about two months ago symbolically blocked the Komotini-Xanthi national road at the 3rd kilometer (Paradimi junction) for just a few minutes were called by the Prosecutor to give an explanation, as announced by the president of the Agricultural Association of the Municipality of Komotini Nikos Botrotsos on radio Chronos 87.5fm. It should be noted that their mobilizations lasted for several days and no serious problem was caused on any day.

“We were called to give written updates to the Prosecutor’s Office about the action we took one day when we went to the 3rd km of Komotini-Xanthi, because as the Prosecutor’s Office claims, traffic was obstructed. Within the next few days we will give the specific testimony and we will see if the case will go to the Court or to the “drawer”. What will be done is in the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office”, he characteristically said, while regarding the reality of the mobilizations he explained: “what really happened is known to the world: all our movements were “so much”, that is, to pass the our messages but also so as not to inconvenience our fellow citizens so that they are free to move. Our mobilizations cannot be such as to embarrass the rest of society.”
