66% of vehicles will not cross Egnatia from the height of Aristotle’s horseshoe to OSE

The bus terminals in Charilaou and Voulgari are to be abolished, after the start of the metro operation in Thessaloniki. These routes will end at the new New Switzerland terminal and will have a direct connection to the metro.

This was emphasized by managing director of OSETH Yiannis Toskasspeaking on the show Dimotis online, with Panagiotis Krini, on the municipal television of Thessaloniki TV100.

Mr. Toskas added that the bus route restructuring study foresees how 66% of vehicles will not cross Egnatia from the height of Aristotle’s horseshoe to OSE.. The specific buses will be used on other routes, whether they are operating today or will be created. Among others, they will be created 4 new lines perpendicular to the city, while new lines will connect neighboring areasconcluded Mr. Toskas.

Listen to what Mr. Toskas had to say:

It is recalled that it was also mentioned in a related matter a few days ago, that the study of the restructuring of the lines foresees a drastic restriction of passage of many of them on the axis of Egnatia. Trunk lines such as the 14 of Toumba, the 3 that crosses almost the entire city or that of the airport will remain as they are and carry out the project with better frequencies.

The goal of OSETH is for the number of buses on the roads to reach five hundred along with external lines and reserve vehicles.
