Since we see the Municipality showing zeal regarding some unsolved issues that have been lingering in the city of Kozani, I think it is important to take care of the issue of ramps, which serve both our fellow citizens with disabilities and parents with strollers. In the main streets there are several on the street, but not so much in the streets around the center or in the shops. Some shopkeepers in central locations say that they were not allowed to install ramps from the previous municipal authority and that they hope the new Mayor will give the “ok”. Therefore, we ask the new municipal authority to settle the issue. It is not possible to not have access to everyday life to shop, to serve ourselves, to meet our basic needs, nor is it an image that honors anyone to lift up our fellow citizen who moves in a wheelchair or babies in strollers, for to climb dozens of steps several times. We live in 2024 and we are still discussing self-evident rights… Disability and what obstacles such phenomena create in society.
