A minor (17 years old) was arrested by police officers of the Veria Security Department, who together with his 54-year-old father were cultivating a total of 24 cannabis seedlings in a specially designed area at their home in an area in western Thessaloniki. The police arrested the 17-year-old. On the contrary, a case was filed against the father only because he was not at home. At the same time, he is wanted to be arrested in the context of the autoforo.
In detail, in a statement, the police state:
Yesterday (April 22, 2024) at noon in the area of Thessaloniki, by police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Team of the Veria Security Department, a minor citizen was arrested and a case was filed against his father, for cultivating cannabis seedlings.
In particular, in an investigation carried out at their home, with the assistance of police officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team of the Veria Security Department, it was found that they were growing a total of 24 cannabis seedlings, up to 70 centimeters in height, in a specially designed area.
The cannabis plants were uprooted and confiscated, along with the equipment used to grow them (lights, amplifiers, ventilation system).
A small amount of cannabis was also found and confiscated in the minor’s possession.
The arrested person, with the case file filed against him, was taken to the First Instance Prosecutor of Thessaloniki, who referred him to the Investigator.
