The initiative to “create a single voice that will create a channel of communication with the government” GEOT.EE/K.E., TEE/TKDTH and OEE P.T. of Thessaly held a conference on Tuesday afternoon with the theme: “Thessaly: Reconstruction with Cooperation – Know-how – Plan – Perspective”.

In the collaboration of the three Chambers (GEOTEE, TEE and Economic Chamber) issues for the reconstruction of Thessaly were discussed, with the presidents addressing a call to all the bodies of Thessaly. Through the discussion that took place, an analysis of the Dutch masterplan was made, while proposals were submitted for its improvement.

At the same time, the goal of the conference is to start and promote a meaningful dialogue and to draw useful conclusions, as well as to highlight the technocratic dimensions, in the context of the reconstruction effort of Thessaly.

“No organization and agency managed to gather all the interested parties in one room”, noted in his initial position the president of GEOTEE/KE, Dimitris Dogoulis, adding that a new meeting will follow in about a month to create an institutional framework that will all the Thessalians agree on what are the immediate problems and the major projects that should be announced.

Mr. Dogoulis noted that all the proposals that have been submitted will be discussed, with him stating that there is a “common component” in all four texts. “We need a single voice, from a committee of Thessaly, where everyone will participate”, he concluded.

The president of TEE/TKDTH, Nikos Papageorgiou, addressed the water problem of Thessaly, where it has been highlighted for years. “We demand solutions and we ask for the economic development of Thessaly and the well-being of its citizens.”

Finally, the president of the OEE PT Thessaly, Ilias Kotsibogeorgos, referred to the objectives set by the Economic Chamber regarding the prominence of the agriculture and livestock sector in the economic development of Thessaly, the discussion of the masterplan and finally to listen to the stakeholders.

During the conference, there was a speech by the former president of GEOTEE of Central Greece, the former Director of Vascular Improvements of the Prefecture of Larissa, Costas Goumas, regarding the “unified and realistic plan” that should exist.

The Electrical Engineer, Coordinator of the NSRF Standing Committee & European Programs TEE/TKDTH, Ioannis Tolias, who referred to the data behind the new RIS3 of Thessaly, while the president of the Center for Planning and Economic Research (KEPE), Panagiotis Liargovas, analyzed the economic approach for the reconstruction of Thessaly.
