African dust has covered the entire area of Attica.

The veil of African dust that “chokes” the Attic sky creates an eerie scene. What had already been created in southern Greece was transferred to the north

It is recalled that until tomorrow the concentrations of African dust will be high in our country, especially for the central, western and southern parts of the country, and then the phenomenon will be limited to the eastern and southern parts, as the wind will turn from south to west and northwest.

Cloudiness will prevail today in most geographical areas and especially in the west, central and north we will encounter mud showers. The winds will blow south southeast in the Aegean and Ionian and will reach up to 9 Beaufort. At 26-28 degrees Celsius the temperature in most areas with the exception of the northwest where the mercury will not exceed 21 degrees. In northern Crete, with the help of the “descendant” to the south, it will push the mercury close to 33-35 degrees Celsius.

Earlier the African dust has “covered” Kalamata for good, also creating an eerie scene. According to images from messinialive.gr, the sky has turned bright yellow, while the residents of Kalamata find it difficult to breathe as the temperature is much higher than the normal levels for the season.

The same scene in Patras… The temperature at noon on Tuesday (23/4) had “climbed” to 30 degrees Celsius, where in combination with the strong hot wind that was blowing and the African dust, it created a suffocating atmosphere and creating eerie images.
