Her 6th EMAK was visited last week, the Deputy Governor of Achaia, Fokion Zaimis.

“Among the obligations of my new duties is to be informed, to help where I can and to ensure from the side of the Region, at the level of civil protection, safety for the citizen. The Special Disaster Response Unit (SDR) consists of specialized and very dynamic personnel, always ready to deal with, from the simplest to the most difficult situations”, said Mr. Zaimis.

The Deputy Governor of Achaia was fully informed by the Commander of the Service, Theodore PhilipPieverywhere. Regarding the biggest issue that concerns the 6th EMAK at the moment, which is the search for a new suitable place for their relocation, Mr. Zaimis responded positively regarding his contribution to finding a place.

It is worth noting that the main responsibility of EMAK is rescue in extreme situations or where specialized treatment is needed such as rescue from floods, earthquakes, mountain rescue, underwater research, CBR incidents, as well as assistance in other firefighting work (fires, traffic and industrial accidents etc. .a.).
