Syros: Step by step the studies for the future protection and upgrading of the port infrastructure of Phoenicia

In its last meeting, the Municipal Port Fund of Syros proceeded with the approval of the survey of the topographical – bathymetric survey of the port of Finikas. The specific study was carried out within the framework of the contract entitled “Preparation of studies for the improvement, upgrading and protection of the port infrastructures of the land zone of Phoinika Syros, which has been undertaken by the Association of Economic Agencies MARNET ATE – Enviroplan Meletitiki – Consultants for Development and Technical Projects A. E. – Karamolegos Mattheos, following a competition.

In the context of this contract, approval was recently given by the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy to carry out four sample drillings in the sea area of ​​Phoenix, in order to collect scientific data for the documentation of the required studies regarding the protection and upgrading of the port infrastructures area.

As soon as the package of studies is completed, the interventions that must be made in the land area and on the coastal front of Phoenicas will be finalized, with the aim of protecting it from the weather and the necessary upgrading of its infrastructure. It is a future but necessary project for the region, for which funding should also be sought.
