I.M. PIRAEUS – The new Central Portmaster of Piraeus, Arch-Captain L.S. Drakoulis Kouvaris visited today, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the offices of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus in “MARINAKION MELATHRON”, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Piraeus, Mr. Seraphim.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Piraeus Municipality, Mr. Grigoris Kapsokolis, and Mr. Michalis Tsifakis, the President of the Consumers Union of Greece.

In this formal meeting, both His Excellency and the new Harbor Master confirmed the excellent cooperation and communication between the Coast Guard and our local Church, with the aim of safety, information and facilitation of the citizens during their passage to the first port of country.

His Eminence, welcoming the new Port Authority, pointed out that the Piraeus Port Authority is an important pillar at the entrance of our country, serving and offering its services to the passenger public with love and protection.

For his part, the new port master asked for His Excellency’s wishes for the smooth performance of his duties in the country’s first port and for God’s protection in the extremely responsible work he undertakes.

They exchanged opinions and discussed issues that concern the daily lives of citizens, as well as the provision of continuous support to the homeless of the port, both pointing out the need for the cooperation of all the institutions of the wider region.

His Eminence wished the new Coast Guard a good term, underlining that both our Metropolis and himself personally will find supporters in the work that he and the women and men of the Coast Guard who serve at the Port Authority of Piraeus are doing, assuring him at the same time that he will be provided by the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus with all possible help for the benefit and service of the citizens.

Finally, His Eminence offered the new Harbor Master an Icon of the Virgin Mary as a Blessing.
