With the presence of all the local authorities and the pleasant surprise of the appearance of the first Greek Olympic gold medalist, Mrs. Voulas Patoulidou, the Conference was held with the theme: “Tourism in focus” organized in Tripoli (18/4/24) by KEDIVIM SARONIS. The remarkable thing about this Conference was the collaboration with the SARONIS Educational Organization by all the local public bodies involved in the topic of tourism (hospitality and catering). Co-organizers were the Union of Hoteliers of Arcadia, the Cafe-Restaurants Association of Arcadia and the Association of Confectioners and Related Professions of Tripoli.

Greetings to the Conference were given by: Mrs. Eleni Karuntzou, Deputy Mayor of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Tripoli, the President of the Chamber of Arcadia, Mr. Yannis Troupis, the Director of the Public IEK Tripoli, Mrs. Yannis Katsiris, the Director of the IEK Pan-Arkadian Hospital of Tripoli, Mr. Gogo Margiolou and the Head of Self-financed Programs of APOPSIS Group, Mr. Costas Savvidis.

With the capacity of the self-governing body, which had a direct relationship with Tourism as Vice-Regional Governor, our gold medalist Mrs. Voula Patoulidou took the floor and, referring to the Conference, congratulated all the organizers for the initiative and emphasized that only with synergies like this from the agencies involved in the matter, the acute problems of Greek tourism can be addressed.

Afterwards, the Head of the Tripoli Branch of KEK SARONIS, Ms. Akrivis Makri, referred in detail to the subsidized “tourism voucher” program announced by the Ministry of Tourism with the implementing agency the Public Employment Company, stressing that it is an ambitious training program with beneficiaries of the unemployed, employees and seasonal workers in tourism which is expected to start soon.

After the information about the Tourism program, speeches began by specialized executives, actors and University students who referred to the problems found today in the tourism sector as well as the modern tools that tourism professionals can use to increase the tourist flow to businesses their.

Specifically, the following speeches were held on the following topics:

– The Director of Education Projects SKYWALKER.GR – WORK IN GREECE Mrs. Katerina Gritzali analyzed the topic: Elevator pitch the presentation of myself in 1 minute.

– The President of the Peloponnese Tourism Organization, President of the Arcadia Hoteliers’ Union, Vice-President of the Panhellenic Hoteliers’ Federation and Professor at the University of Western Attica, Mr. Kostas Marinakos, in his speech referred to the deficiencies and training of workers in the tourism industry.

– Ms. Angeliki Kouledianou as a certified Adult Educator specialized in Tourism spoke about the necessity of social media marketing.

– Hospitality Digital Marketer Mr. Kyros Asfis developed the design of an integrated Digital Marketing Plan and finally

– Mr. Yiannis Koutsopoulos as a specialist in the strategic planning of hotel marketing explained how new technologies are changing the hospitality industry.

According to common opinion, it was a successful and high-level Tourism Conference that highlighted the present and the optimistic future of the tourism industry in our country. At the same time, it was emphasized that the training of tourism workers should be a key priority not only for the quality of our tourism product but also for covering the thousands of positions found in the catering and hospitality industry.

Warm congratulations are due for the synergy to all the organizers, but especially to the heads of the mass organizations that cooperated with KEDIVIM SARONIS: 1) to the President of the Hoteliers of Arcadia, Mr. Kostas Marinakos, 2) to the President of the Association of Cafe-Restaurants of Arcadia, Mr. Vassilis Athanasiadis and 3) to the President of the Association of Confectioners and related professions of Tripoli, Mr. Yannis Terzis.
