Syros: Delivery actions at the 6th Experimental Kindergarten of Hermoupoli

On Thursday 11-04-2024, in the framework of the Creativity and Innovation Group “With the flavor of tradition” held during the school year 2023-2024 at the 6th Experimental Kindergarten of Ermoupoli, Syros, Ms. Maria Korfiatou, dance teacher of the Lyceum Hellenes Branch of Syros, attended, at the invitation of our school, with the aim of bringing the children closer to the elements of the Greek tradition. More specifically, Ms. Korfiatou together with the children “dressed” the tcholias while simultaneously giving information and explaining symbolism regarding the parts of the costume. Then, after presenting them with mannequins in women’s traditional costumes, she adjusted headbands on the girls, transporting us to other times and activating the children’s interest and imagination.

After this successful action, the young students asked to have another meeting with Ms. Korfiatou. On the occasion of our preoccupation with the customs of Easter, it was jointly decided on Tuesday 23-04-2024 to revive the custom of Lazarus, constructing it with her help. Our school was flooded with creativity and fragrances.

We would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts the Syros Branch Greek High School and especially Ms. Korfiatou for the opportunity she offered our young students to approach elements of the Greek tradition.
