Niki’s MP, Nikos Papadopoulos, will have a meeting – which will obviously have warnings, but no “rules” – in a short time, with the president of the party, Dimitris Natsios, wanting in this way to shut down the reactions caused by the MP’s statements in favor of “Christian cuffs in Churches (!)” against ND MPs and the government.

Nikos Papadopoulos, before the meeting he would have with Dimitris Natsios, issued a statement in which he expresses remorse saying “I condemn any kind of violence”.

In fact, he indirectly, but not clearly, attacks the media, claiming that “once again, a sentence is isolated from one of my statements in the Parliament and is reproduced by the entire media in a way that distorts the meaning and essence of what I say” and moves on to the counterattack, apparently considering that this is the best defense, adding that “this is another distortion of what I said in order to drag me out and target NIKI”.

Mr. Papadopoulos underlines that “I have a clear position in the Parliament that I condemn any kind of violence that cannot be interpreted, even if some people try to create false impressions. All of us people of NIKI stand against any form of violence by anyone, as this behavior is not consistent with the values of a genuine democratic movement and with our ecclesiastical mindset.”

Natsios: He is a good heart surgeon… and a father

The president of Niki, speaking a while ago with parliamentary editors wanting to mitigate the Alginian reactions, downgraded the meeting he will have with his MP Nikos Papadopoulos to “scheduled”.

As Mr. Natsios said, he will advise him to be careful, as it is not the first time that his statements cause…

At the same time, he covered Mr. Papadopoulos saying that “he is a good person and scientist, father of six children which did not incite attacks or cuffs”.

The president of Niki wanted to turn the “ecclesiastical slaps of the MP” into something more political, saying that we at Niki “condemned the attack on the ND MP, although the Government needs a political slap”.
