Municipality contractors: Let’s talk clearly…

The contract holders of the Municipality of Patreon, with their struggle and effort, have exposed a municipal authority with a clear and clear party sign, which with its palinades proves to be below the expectations of the citizens as a self-government, but also reactive towards the reasonable demand of a social group for the right at work.

Why this municipal authority which at first represented the “revolutionary Popolaro” and appeared as the sole defender of the Municipality’s contractors, then fired them, did not support its request before the Court and finally, chooses to… play politics, accusing on the one hand the opposition and on the other hand the governments.

Let’s talk so very clear.

The Faction “Patra Enomeni”, Mr. Mayor and gentlemen of the municipal authority, does not play cheap games on the backs of the contractors. Plain and simple, for years it has been standing by their side, firmly and unwaveringly supporting its request and as a self-governing faction that maintains the autonomy of its action and opinion, it claims to be on the side of the contract holders, independently of governments and without party blinders.

Our faction is not looking for “party rewards”, but substantial assistance to the contract holders, which is why it has very clearly been in favor of increasing the funding of the Municipality to cover payroll needs, but also the enhanced scoring of the contract holders in order to claim permanent claims jobs in the Municipality.

And of courseour faction, not only stands against all forms of violence (condemning the incidents that took place last Friday morning), but also against the actions of the municipal authority, which artfully organized and allegedly held a protest rally in the exact same place where already were the contract holders.

Self-government in the free world, Mr. Mayor, he is not a “pawn” of political and party expedients. He must claim the same for everyone and stand by the side of all the citizens of the local society, making sure not to make the slightest exception.

Unfortunately for Patras, your municipal government can never cross party lines and never look at all citizens with the same eyes.

Our faction is consistent, pre-election and post-election. Yours, she changes faces and guises and what’s more, when she doesn’t like it, she makes sure she doesn’t even follow the decisions of the municipal council!
